Ethical Governance and Honorary Recognition

“Trinity International University of Ambassadors (TIUA) is an affilliate of TIUA School of Business collaborates with legally separate institutions, including Trinity International Chaplaincy Institute (TICI), for mission-aligned programming. Each institution operates independently with separate governance, degree authority, and financial structure.” Trinity International Chaplaincy Institute—upholds the highest standards of ethics, integrity, accountability, and Christian character in all honorary recognitions.

As a biblical, Christ-centered institution, TIUA confers honorary degrees as symbolic acknowledgments of individuals whose leadership, service, humanitarian contributions, community impact, and personal character align with the University’s mission of education, empowerment, ministry, and global influence.

Institutional Structure & Authority Statement
Trinity International University of Ambassadors (TIUA) is a private, for-profit, Christ-centered institution. TIUA School of Business is an affiliated institution operating under the TIUA brand and governance framework.

Trinity International Chaplaincy Institute (TICI) is a legally separate, nonprofit religious institution that collaborates with TIUA for mission-aligned programming and ceremonial activities. TICI maintains separate governance, financial structure, and degree authority and does not confer or control honorary degrees issued by TIUA.

TIUA retains exclusive authority over the nomination, conferral, administration, and revocation of honorary degrees issued in its name.

Nature and Limitations of Honorary Degrees

Honorary degrees are ceremonial and non-academic.
They do not carry academic credit, professional qualifications, licensure privileges, or the rights associated with earned academic degrees.

Eligibility and Standards for Recognition

To be considered for an honorary degree, nominees must demonstrate:

  • Documented excellence in ministry, leadership, education, business, humanitarian work, or community advancement.

  • Conduct consistent with TIUA’s biblical values, ethical expectations, and Code of Ethical Conduct.

  • A reputation for integrity, accountability, and moral leadership.

  • Meaningful impact within local, national, or global communities.

All nominations undergo internal administrative review.

Revocation or Rescission of Honorary Degrees

TIUA reserves the right to revoke or rescind an honorary degree at any time if:

  • Verified public records or court documents indicate criminal activity, ethical violations, or conduct inconsistent with TIUA’s mission or Christian values;

  • Documented findings reveal misrepresentation, nondisclosure, or false information submitted during the nomination or acceptance process;

  • The honoree engages in unethical, immoral, or disreputable behavior that conflicts with TIUA’s biblical standards or brings discredit to the University;

  • The individual violates the Terms, Conditions & Disclosures they acknowledged at acceptance.

All revocations are administrative in nature and may occur without refund, as fees cover administrative, ceremonial, and processing actions already completed. “Nominees must have a record of transformation and measurable service; any misrepresentation, falsification of information, or unethical conduct is grounds for immediate revocation.”

Supplemental Clause: Corporate Liability vs. Personal Conduct

TIUA distinguishes between:

  • Personal criminal wrongdoing, which constitutes grounds for revocation; and

  • Corporate liability, which refers to the legal responsibility of a business entity for actions taken by its employees, contractors, or third parties.

TIUA does not revoke honorary recognitions based solely on:

  • Corporate lawsuits;

  • Employer-level negligence claims;

  • Business restructuring;

  • Bankruptcy filings;

  • Settlements unrelated to personal conduct.

Honors may only be revoked in cases where:

  1. The individual has been personally convicted of a criminal act;

  2. The individual has been found to have engaged in fraud, deception, or misrepresentation;

  3. The individual’s personal conduct violates TIUA’s Institutional Integrity and Ethical Standards;

  4. A direct, personal act—not the act of an employee or business associate—undermines TIUA’s values.

TIUA does not assign guilt or judgment based on the actions of an individual’s employees, contractors, business partners, or associates.

 

Authority, Jurisdiction, and Legal Compliance

The authority to confer, review, rescind, or administratively evaluate honorary degrees is vested in:

  • The Office of the Chancellor

  • The Office of Institutional Affairs

  • The TIUA Board of Trustees

  • Authorized leaders of TIUA subsidiaries and affiliates

Legal Status Disclosure
Trinity International University of Ambassadors (TIUA) is a private, for-profit, faith-based educational institution. TIUA is not a public university and does not claim regional accreditation. Honorary degrees conferred by TIUA are ceremonial recognitions and are not academic credentials.

Jurisdiction & Governing Law
All honorary degree determinations issued by TIUA are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, under which TIUA is organized and operates. Collaboration with affiliated or nonprofit institutions does not transfer jurisdiction, authority, or liability related to TIUA-issued honorary recognitions.

DISCLAIMER CLAUSE:

All determinations are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and the State of Georgia, as applicable to the specific TIUA entity, subsidiary, or affiliate administering the honorary recognition, and are carried out in accordance with documented institutional due-process procedures and required administrative documentation.

Administrative decisions are made objectively, based on verified evidence—not speculation, commentary, social media opinion, or external influence.

Authorized TIUA leadership as designated in writing for specific ceremonial or administrative functions

Confidentiality and Public Communications

To safeguard privacy, dignity, and institutional integrity:

TIUA, its affiliated institutions, and collaborating nonprofit partners do not publicly comment on, confirm, deny, or discuss individual honorary degree decisions, including conferrals, reviews, or rescissions.

Ministry & Global Justice Alignment Statement

TIUA is a ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, committed to bringing the Good News through education, leadership development, and the transformation of lives. Jesus came to save souls and restore lives—and we believe that no one is beyond the reach of redemption.

Our honorary recognitions are non-academic, ministry-based acknowledgments awarded to individuals who demonstrate verifiable transformation, integrity, accountability, and service aligned with both Christian values and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4, 5, 10 & 16).

We do not honor past mistakes; we honor measurable growth, service, and community impact. TIUA reserves the right to revoke any honorary recognition if the recipient later engages in conduct inconsistent with our mission, values, or terms of acknowledgement.

Biblical Foundation for Private Correction & Restoration

As a Christ-centered ministry, TIUA adheres to the biblical principle found in Matthew 18:15, which teaches:

“If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.” (NIV)

Because of this scriptural foundation, TIUA:

  • Handles correction privately and respectfully;

  • Avoids public shaming or commentary about individuals;

  • Protects confidentiality as a spiritual and ethical practice;

  • Focuses on restoration, dignity, and healing;

  • Maintains biblical order by declining to publicly discuss individual honorary decisions.

Participant Health and Well-Being Notice

Participation in TIUA’s Honorary Degree Program is subject to all institutional policies published under the Policies & Governance section of this website, including the Medical, Mental Health & Wellness Disclaimer. TIUA and its affiliates do not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, counseling, or therapeutic services, and participation in TIUA programs does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or care of any kind.

Financial Contributions Disclaimer
Financial contributions, sponsorships, or administrative fees associated with honorary degree recognitions do not guarantee nomination, approval, or conferral of any honorary degree. All honorary recognitions are awarded at the sole discretion of TIUA based on documented merit, service, and alignment with institutional values.

Non-Representation Clause
Honorary degrees issued by TIUA may not be represented as earned academic credentials, professional licenses, or qualifications. Any misrepresentation by a recipient constitutes grounds for immediate revocation.
