2. Relationship to Formal Agreements

Formal and binding terms—including acknowledgments, waivers of liability, disclaimers, releases, and required consents—are provided during the application, nomination, enrollment, registration, or payment process. These documents must be reviewed and executed by participants as a condition of participation.

This webpage serves as a public notice and governance reference and does not replace executed agreements.

3. Policies & Governance Incorporation

Participation in TIUA programs is subject to all institutional policies published under the Policies & Governance section of this website, which are incorporated by reference into these Terms & Conditions.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Institutional Authority & Religious Exemption

  • Media & Confidentiality Policy

  • Mission Trips & Global Travel Policy

  • Medical, Mental Health & Wellness Disclaimer

Participants are responsible for reviewing and complying with all applicable policies.

4. Medical, Mental Health & Wellness Disclaimer

TIUA and its affiliates do not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, counseling, or therapeutic services. Participation in any TIUA program does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, or care of any kind.

Participants acknowledge that they are solely responsible for their own mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing and are encouraged to seek care from appropriately licensed professionals when needed. TIUA assumes no responsibility or liability for personal health decisions, conditions, or outcomes related to participation.

5. No Academic or Professional Guarantees

Honorary degrees and recognitions are ceremonial in nature and do not confer academic credit, licensure, professional certification, or employment eligibility. Educational or leadership programs do not guarantee income, employment, credentials, business success, media placement, or professional outcomes unless expressly stated in writing.

6. Participant Conduct & Ethical Standards

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with TIUA’s mission, values, and ethical standards. TIUA reserves the right to deny participation, revoke access, or rescind honors or recognitions for conduct inconsistent with institutional policies or values.

7. Media, Confidentiality & Communications

TIUA does not publicly comment on individual participant matters, including nominations, selections, disciplinary actions, personal circumstances, or health-related issues. Participants agree not to misrepresent their affiliation with TIUA or speak on behalf of the institution without written authorization.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TIUA and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to participation in any program, event, or activity, including but not limited to personal, professional, financial, reputational, or health-related outcomes.

9. Modifications

TIUA reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions and related policies at any time. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of the most current version.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction in which the relevant TIUA entity operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
